Designed for the BMW G8X platform, the do88 radiator increases cooling capacity, coolant volume and heat dissipation while retaining a direct-fit installation using the vehicle’s factory mounting locations.

Improved S58 Charge Air Cooling

The BMW S58 uses a water-to-air charge cooling system, with coolant circulating between the charge cooler and a front-mounted heat exchanger.

As power levels and sustained engine loads increase, the factory cooling system can become susceptible to heat soak. Rising intake air temperatures can reduce performance consistency as the ECU compensates for excessive temperatures.

The do88 Front Intercooler Radiator has been developed to provide significantly greater cooling capacity, making it particularly suited to tuned, high-performance and track-driven S58 vehicles.

Quad-Pass Cooling Design

Unlike the factory radiator’s two-pass arrangement, the do88 radiator features a quad-pass coolant flow design.

This routes coolant through the core four times, increasing its contact with the available cooling surface and improving heat transfer before the coolant returns to the charge cooling system.

Combined with the larger core, this provides substantially greater thermal capacity for demanding applications.

Larger High-Performance Core

The do88 radiator features a 39% larger core volume than the factory unit, together with a 48 mm thick two-row core.

External tube area is increased by approximately 9%, providing additional active cooling surface while carefully designed cooling fins maintain airflow through to the engine radiator positioned behind it.

Full Aluminium Construction

The factory plastic components are replaced with a robust all-aluminium construction.

The radiator incorporates aluminium end tanks, core and CNC-machined connections, with the assembly TIG welded for improved strength and durability.

This construction is particularly beneficial for modified vehicles operating under increased thermal and performance demands.
